More about information systems
The Information Management Institute of the University of Neuchâtel and the "Faculté des hautes études commerciales" (HEC) of the University of Lausanne are proud to present their new Master of Science in Information Systems.
The post-industrial, information age is characterised by a competition of companies, on process and innovation, rather than products alone. The asset of companies today, is their information, represented in people, experience, know-how, patents and trade secrets. For a company to be able to compete, it must have a strong information infrastructure, at the heart of which, lies the information technology infrastructure.
Thus, rather than dealing exclusively with information technologies, the study of information systems focuses on why and how technology can be put into best use to serve the information flow within an organization. Informations Systems are at the interface between infomation technologies and management.
