The academic year starts mid-September and finishes at the end of May. It is divided into two semesters:

Academic calendar 2010-2011

• Fall  semester
  • Start date                  21 September 2010
  • End date                   23 December 2010

• Spring semester

  • Start date                   21 February 2011
  • End date                      3 June 2011

Registration deadlines

Generally, the steps above must be taken as soon as possible, as - in certain countries - administrative requests may take several months (visa requests, legalization of diplomas, etc). The completed registration request must arrive at the Academic Service by:

• April 30 to be registered in the fall semester
• November 30 to be registered in the spring semester
• February 15 for medecine (CRUS)

Note: Bachelor degree candidates taking the Fribourg exam must send their registration dossier earlier (see portail futur étudiant in French).

It is recommended that students begin their studies in the fall semester. For certain courses, admission is only possible in the falll semester.
